Privacy policy

The short version

This site is a static web page with no backend. Your Business Model Canvas is stored in your own browser and is never transmitted to us. We have no accounts, no database, and no way to read what you write.

What we store, and where

  • Your canvases. Saved in your browser’s localStorage under the key bmc.store.v1. This data never leaves your device. Clearing your browser storage deletes it permanently, and we cannot recover it — use the JSON export if you want a backup.
  • Theme preference. A single localStorage entry recording whether you chose light, dark, or system appearance.
  • Share links. When you press Share, the canvas is compressed into the link itself. The content travels inside the URL, not through a server of ours. Anyone who has the link can read that canvas, so treat share links as public.

What we do not do

  • We do not ask you to create an account.
  • We do not upload, read, store, or analyse the contents of your canvas.
  • We do not sell data, because we do not collect any.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to count page views and understand which pages are useful. IP addresses are anonymised. Analytics measures navigation only — the text you type into a canvas is never sent. You can block this with any standard tracker blocker, or via Google’s opt-out browser add-on.

Advertising

No advertising is currently served on this site. If that changes, this page will be updated first, and any personalised advertising in the EEA, the UK, and Switzerland will be gated behind a consent notice.

Hosting

The site is served as static files by a hosting provider that keeps standard server logs, which may include your IP address, user agent, and requested URL. These logs exist for security and reliability and are not used to build a profile of you.

Your rights

Because we hold no personal data, there is nothing for us to export or erase on request. You already have complete control: your canvases are on your own device, and deleting them in the app or clearing browser storage removes them entirely. For data held by Google as a result of analytics or advertising, exercise your rights through Google directly using the links above.

Children

This tool is intended for a general business audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, the date at the top of the page will change with it.
